Tonight is the Deadliest Catch episode that I have been dreading and I know I will be crying watching it. Tonight is the episode where we say good bye to Captian Phil Harris.
For those that do not know who this is, he is one of the fisherman featured on Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, a show about fishing for Alaskan King crab. He is/was the Captian of the Cornelia Marie and he suffered a stroke on January 29, 2010 and passed away on February 9, 2010.
He was one of my favorite people on the show and tonight's show brings back memories of the loss of the Edmund Fitgereld. I feel many of the emotions over this that I felt then, but then it was more personal for me as my biological mom worked where they ate when they docked or loaded here in Toledo. I knew them and am still haunted by them.
But life does not end and the fleet must go on, the circle is eternal and keeps truning and from endings come beginnings.
I am still writing and working on my cast of characters for my novel. It feels good to just focus on that for a bit each day. I take breaks to eat and do stuff around the house. More in a few hours once I catch up on my DVR recordings and am done with my writing tonight.
